We are very fortunate to have as our guest speaker the internationally known Italian guitarist and Professor of music, Giuseppe Ficara. He will speak to us briefly in French about Italian composers in the 20th century and especially about his current research on the great composer Mario Castelnuovo- Tedesco. Professor Ficara has been professor of guitar at the Conservatory of Pesaro since 2007; he is very active giving concerts in many countries, produces recordings, and has won numerous awards for his musicianship. After his presentation in French he will perform a few pieces on the guitar; then we will have a discussion period in French followed by refreshments. Please bring a snack to share with our friends. People who speak French at all levels are cordially invited; please come and bring a friend!

Designed for teenagers, this immersion class is divided into two parts: learning grammar and vocabulary through a very interactive workbook and pracising what they have just learned in a workshop every three weeks by using videos, the internet, songs and comics"

The library offers over 2000 books in French.
Our collection includes literature, anthropology,religion, history, art, theater, poetry, sociology, travel, children's literature, comic books, French magazines...and about 100 French movies on DVD
Library borrowing privileges may be obtained upon presentation of a valid membership card of the Alliance Francaise de Providence.
